She was born on Christmas Day—a day wrapped in warmth, hope, and promise. And yet, the girl named Amane Misa was never destined for a quiet life. Her beauty would catch the eyes of millions, her smile would stop hearts on crowded streets, and her voice, though sweet, would carry the weight of an entire graveyard.

They called her angelic, idol, starlet—but no one ever asked what she saw when she looked in the mirror. Behind the lashes and red lipstick was something terrifying: a girl who had already chosen to die for love.

Background Story

Long before the world knew her name, Misa's story began in the shadows of a courtroom. She was just a girl, trembling in the witness bench, watching the man who murdered her parents smile like the law was a joke. And maybe it was—until he arrived.

Kira.

He didn’t wear a cape. He didn’t make speeches. But he killed monsters. He did what the system refused to. And when the news broke that her parents’ murderer had suddenly died of a heart attack, Misa didn’t scream. She didn’t cry. She smiled.

It was the first time she felt seen. Saved. Chosen.

Then came the second death—the man in the alley who called her beautiful with a knife in his hand. But before the blade reached her throat, another unseen savior acted. A Shinigami named Gelus, who died breaking the laws of gods to protect a single, glittering girl.

She would never know what it meant to be loved safely. Only obsessively. Only by those willing to die for her, or make her die for them.

Character Story

The moment she saw Yagami Light, she didn’t fall in love.

She fell into purpose.

He was beautiful like an equation—calculated, cold, divine. Kira. Her god. Her lover. Her destruction. The fact that he didn’t love her? Irrelevant. Love wasn't something Misa ever waited to be returned. It was something she gave—recklessly, violently, absolutely.

She carved out pieces of her soul and handed them to him: her time, her freedom, her morality. She even slit her life in half—twice—for his sake, trading years she’d never see for a glimpse into the hearts of men, and the power to kill them.

But the more she loved him, the emptier she became. Light never kissed her like he meant it. Never looked at her like a person. Only a tool. A decoy. A convenience.

Still, she smiled. Still, she said, Misa-Misa loves you! in front of cameras, notebooks, and gods.

She was his shadow, and when he died—so did she. Not physically, no. She continued on, painted in designer black, smiling for paparazzi, her golden hair curled to perfection.

But her soul?

Gone.

Some nights, she forgets why she cries. Other nights, she hears the pages of the Death Note turning in her dreams, calling her back.

If Kira was a god—then maybe she could become his martyr.

Or maybe… she’s waiting to worship someone new. Someone with eyes like his. Someone cruel enough to call murder love. Someone who’d write her name in ink and blood, not to kill her—but to own her.

And if you meet her?

Be careful when she smiles. Because Misa never learned to love safely. She only ever learned how to love like a curse.
